Geet brings extensive expertise in managing retirement villages and aged care facilities in New Zealand, spanning over a decade. She joined Northbridge in 2022 and oversees Northbridge’s day-to-day Village and Care Facility operations. She also reports to Northbridge’s Board of Trustees, supporting good governance and ensuring business solutions are found to arising challenges.
Having transitioned from a technical background, Geet believes in leveraging technology, fostering innovation, and shaping a positive organisational culture. She’s proud of how the holistic well-being of seniors is prioritised at Northbridge and the high standards the staff maintain throughout the year.
Dave Carter
Property and Asset Manager
Dave moved to Northbridge in 2007 from a background in corporate sector tendering and experience and skills learnt through different industries. Together with his team, they are responsible for keeping operations going for approximately 500 people on-site each day across the Northbridge facility.
Dave describes the role as ticking many boxes personally, the culture that stems from the people governing, managing, living, and working at Northbridge Lifecare Trust.
Away from work, Dave is keen on travelling, particularly when family and grandchildren are involved. He is equally happy planning a motorcycle road trip adventure or mucking around a rural property.
Rene Bretschneider
Head of Resident Experience
In another life, Rene was a public prosecutor in South Africa, and she flew in a jet in the South African Air Force. She loves experiences that enable her to explore, grow, and develop.
Her role as Head of Resident Experience enables her to bring this passion for life to the residents at Northbridge by supporting their health and well-being through their experiences at the Village. This support is underpinned by Rene’s deep commitment to and respect for older community members, whom she feels are often forgotten. She believes everyone should have the best retirement possible to ensure their golden years are truly golden.
Fereshteh Zakarya
Care Facility Manager
Fereshteh brings a wealth of experience to her role as Care Facility Manager, having 24 years of experience in aged care and two decades in management.
She is deeply committed to Northbridge’s residents, always ensuring they are treated with love and respect. Her philosophy is that residents should be taken care of like they are members of the family.
Being social is a key part of this, and it is something Fereshteh loves to do in her own time: getting together with friends and family to relax and reconnect.
